Nearly all of this walk follows footpaths alongside or over meadows and along old farm tracks, and the route is quite clearly marked with yellow arrows and seems to be very flat. You can often see and follow the faint line of the path, and the walk will be good to enjoy all year round but summer will be best. Most of the stiles and footbridges are in reasonable condition and there is one brand new bridge (see photo). There are some fields which may have crops in the summer and autumn, and the meadows are likely to have sheep or cows in summer, so if you have a walking stick best to take it with you. Several of the paths on the OS map are on the wrong side of a hedge, and there are a couple of good shortcuts the farmer would probably like you to use.

The walk may be quite suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Excellent for dogs that can be lifted over stiles, but hopeless for wheelchairs & buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled but strong trainers or boots will be best, and there should be few problems for anyone wearing shorts, but take a pair of small secateurs as there is a short patch of bramble that may need trimming back. Half way round the route is the Royal Oak hotel at Kelsal, and if you book in advance you can enjoy a good lunchtime meal with a drink; or pause to use the toilets. There are no other facilities on this walk.
