The walk leaves from Tegg's Nose and passes some of the Macclesfield reservoirs, which have a number of interesting wild birds. The Sutton Common ridge is topped by the Post Office tower. The ridge gives great views into Cheshire. Further on the Wincle Minn ridge makes easy walking as it heads slowly downhill with a good tarmac road surface, but no traffic. The disused canal is most unusual and forms part of the Dane Valley Way. Finally, the Bosley Cloud gives more views.
