This is a very nice eught-mile walk, the route mostly along tracks all in good order, with good views over the fens. Herons, goldfinches and pheasants can be spotted on this walk.
Please see additional information for points of interest.
However, if you wish to avoid climbing down and up the ditch and crossing a dual-carriageway, look out for *** at Waymark 8 in the write-up; the shorter route is five miles. If you walk the full eight miles the inn is on the route.
The Wool Pack Inn is extraordinary, well worth driving there after the five-mile walk. The restaurant has abstract prints by Piet Mondrain, specially commissioned glass panels depicting the ribbon of life, plus a lot more! The bar is very nicely furnished too. The menu has a good choice of home-made food. It has just won the Good Food Award for 2004.
