The first part of the Baker Way starts at Delamere Station before going through the forest itself. It then crosses farmland, mainly arable, passing close to several of the pretty villages in this area. Its finish is in Tarvin, one of the most attractive, with a number of listed buildings. Tarvin is not far from Chester and a bus may be taken back to the city if the whole walk is not being done in one day. Alternatively, a car can easily be parked at each end.
