This is a simple round trip, almost entirely on tracks and paths with only a few short stretches of quiet roads. Starting next to Moor Green Lakes, a nature reserve, we take in a bit of the Blackwater Valley Path. Next we skirt the edge of Finchampstead and visit the church of St James and The Queen's Oak (if you wish). Then we climb (a little) over Wick Hill and down via the edge of the Ridges and back to the start.

My wife and I did this walk in early September. The weather was fabulous. The walk is exactly as described. We had a lovely refreshment stop at the Queens Oak. We would highly recommend this walk
