The Caterthun hillforts stand on adjacent hills guarding the entrances (or perhaps exits) to the Angus Glens. White Caterthun is particularly impressive. Brown Caterthun now appears to have not been a defensible structure given it's multiple entrance points

The walk is short and visits both sites,on a clear day the views stretch from the Angus glens and hills right over to the coast and to Montrose Basin

There is easy parking and although the walk is short it is quite fulfilling
