As the Clwydian Way draws to its end there is a final climb through woodland to Lord Bagot's Monument followed by a descent into the village of Bontuchel (where the Bridge Inn, sadly, has closed) and then along a track called Lady Bagot's Drive. This brings you to the A525 at Rhewl from where the route follows the Afon Clwyd northwards along the valley.
