This walk takes in two of Lakeland's favourite fells, Green Gable and Great Gable and has the added advantage of starting as high up as possible on Honister Pass. The drive up Honister Pass is interesting in itself, plus the fact that you could include a visit to the slate quarry and shop at the start point of the walk, make for a really interesting day on the fells.

On a clear day it is possible to see no fewer than five lakes on this walk. Add the fact that Green Gable gives such good views to the north-west and Great Gable affords such grand panoramic views of some of Lakeland's most impressive peaks, it all makes this walk well worth the effort.

A walk with really stunning views, and full of impressions! We did it on a quiet September Monday. Keep exactly to the walk description and follow the cairns thoroughly when descending GG summit. Otherwise it could bring You down Stone Cove, and that is no real fun for some hundred yards. Chris
