On the map this area is known as The King's Forest of Geltsdale, but please be aware there is a serious lack of trees!

The walk is moderate to strenuous. It is easily map-read from point to point, but at times it can be hard underfoot due to lack of paths. The walker should wear proper footwear on the walk. It takes in six hills and gives gorgeous views at all times. Map-reading from point to point is easy, as you can always see where the next point is, but in bad weather take a map etc!

The area is open access so you can walk where you wish, but keep an eye out for nesting birds and lambing time, as this could impede your progress at certain times of the year.
