Beginning in the friendly little town of Lizard, the hike takes us southwards to the coast to link up with the SW Coastal Path. For the next three or more kilometres, we shall follow the path past fascinating sites such as the famous Lizard Lighthouse, the Marconi Communications Hut and the impressive ramped lifeboat station. All of these are outlined in additional information. The coastal path itself is stunningly beautiful and it is almost a shame to leave it at the quaintly named Devil's Frying Pan near Cadgwith and begin to head inland through timeless Cornish countryside. We have the opportunity to pay a visit to the Norman church of St Grade before eventually turning south-west to cross the boggy Lizard Downs and reach the Coastal Path again near the picturesque Kynance Cove. To end we follow the coastal path for a kilometre or so before heading inland once more on a track that brings us back to The Lizard.

Checked out in August 2019. The coastal path near to the DevilĀ“s Frying Pan has slipped away and I have had to change way mark 8. Follow the directions at way mark 8 if you still wish to view the feature. From way mark 9 I have changed the route to simply follow the country lane since there was some confusion about the cross country route amongst users at this point. The rest of the walk is fine.
