Marlow possesses an attractive town centre, occupies an enviable position on a broad sweep of the River Thames and has the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on its doorstep. This short saunter visits many of Marlow's points of interest. These include the river-bridge, Marlow Lock, some fine buildings, the former haunts of famous literary figures, churches, museum and tourist information office.

Information for Dog Owners: dogs need to be on the leash throughout this walk among Marlow's shoppers and traffic. Your dog would appreciate much more the nearby Walk 6658, in the rural Little Marlow Lakes area.

Hello Christine, I know this doesn't resolve all the problems on this walk and we'll do our best to fix the synch issue asap but in the meantime do please download the free Walkingworld App for zoomable mapping on your phone. Or please use ViewRanger with whom we've had a long standing relationship and all our walks are downloadable through them. Best wishes Chris, Walkingworld

A very interesting and characterful town to explore. Enjoyed it on a cool day in March. A few comments that I hope will be useful. Found the instructions weren't always clear and the photographs, usually of waymark points, seemed out of sync with the instructions. eg. point 11 photograph shows what is located at point 10; there's nothing to say what the photograph at point 14 is. Comment for Walkingworld admin: Unfortunately, the map wasn't a lot of use on this walk as the waymarks are so close together and the walk area was contained in only a small portion of the entire map. The facility to zoom in, or maybe to use another app like Viewranger for town walks may be appropriate. Despite these comments we were pleased to have discovered the delights of this town and recommend the walk. Thank you very much for compiling.
