A flat linear walk, which takes you along the course of the Gask Frontier road, the earliest and most northerly fortified Roman frontier in Britain (and therefore the most northerly fortified Roman frontier of all). The walk visits the sites of three Roman signal towers, under the care of Historic Scotland. The views to the north and south are sometimes impressive, though sometimes blocked by new forestry work. A real treat for the history buff. Interpretative boards are present at all three tower sites. I'm hoping this will be the first of a number of walks visiting Roman sites in Perthsire.
