Starting from the remote hilltop community of Muro en Cameros, we descend to a streambed with water fountain before climbing the other side of the valley, enjoying spectacular scenery. Soon we continue climbing through low vegetation to reach a grassy plain. From here we begin to enter deciduous forest and climb very sharply for less than a kilometre in distance. We now hike for about half the way in lovely forest before descending, to emerge once more in open country. The last leg is a simple return on our outward route. Care is needed in one or two places to find the way. Cattle, wild pigs and deer roam freely in the area.
