This walk is not too strenuous, but is of the right length to enjoy the surrounding areas of Hadrians Wall without it being too busy. Starting at Thirwall Castle (where there is a small cafe) you will use well-marked footpaths and roads whilst all the time being within a good distance of the Wall. It takes you via the use of farms to the local trig point at Burn Divot, which gives you a great view of the local area. The walk eventually brings you to a visitor centre on Hadrian's Wall and picnic areas before walking back to your car. This is a thoroughly good day out.
