1.Point 4. There is now no pinch stile just a gap. 2. Point 5. Stephen M's point is critical. To continue along the river bank is dangerous and virtually impossible. Fork left and uphill just past the impromptu cricket square and up to a gap in the hedge where you find the stile. 3. Point 5 (end) the metal posts have been replaced by a wooden barrier.

A reasonable walk once you leave the main road through Tintern (no alternative route, unfortunately). As we did the walk in January, there was some mud around; this would be a good route in summer. Our GPS measured the distance as 3.3 miles, which, as we only took 1 hour 11 minutes, would seem about right. One navigational issue at Point 5: the path from the stile near the church goes straight on in the field, parallel with the river. You then need to turn left in the middle of the meadow to get to the stile - don't follow the worn route to the end of the field!

This is an extremely dog friendly walk with two stiles that larger dogs can easily navigate.
