Tobacco Factory - towpath - Nightingale Valley - Ashton Court - Abbots Leigh - Abbots Leigh Pond - Ashton Court Estate - Tobacco Factory

A walk from the home of Bristol's mayor (the Tobacco Factory) with its cafe bar and Sunday market) to a local park and rapidly leaving the city. Pass the suspension bridge before climbing into Leigh Woods. Go through the woods before heading for the village of Abbots Leigh. You pass its fishpond. Return via Aston Court Estate. This is a great piece of country by the city.

7/16/2022 - John Richards

A wonderful and varied walk, with lots of shade on a hot day. For ease of parking we started a waypoint 9 (£4 for 4 hours). Very easy to follow, apart from the leg between waypoints 20 and 21. There is now an entrance to Ashton Park Estate immediately opposite as you arrive at the main road. However, the pitch and putt has completely disappeared, so go through the gap into the Estate and keep straight ahead across the mountain bike track to the edge of the meadow. Continue across the meadow and towards the woodland in the same direction; you will meet the very obvious gravel track somewhere near waypoint 21, about 80 metres before you reach the woodland. Turn left along the track to continue the route.
