A very pleasant walk in the countryside around Tomintoul (335m), with splendid views of the surronnding hills and Glen Avon. It's a good leg-stretcher if you are travelling through that part of the Grampians. The walk starts at the southern end of the village and follows a 5km circle through open countryside, finishing with a stroll along the main street. There are good paths all the way, so no special footwear is required; an enjoyable family walk (with dog). Refreshments etc are in Tomintoul.

An easy afternoon walk. Some of the later instructions fail to mention how much the path twists and turns in between way points but the route is fairly obvious. An ideal family afternoon walk. No obviously boggy areas.

Nice walk, dog friendly.
