Hickling is a stunning village in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The walk starts from the car park next to the church at Town Street, the northern section of Hickling. The walk follows quiet country lanes and footpaths to join the Weavers Way long-distance path. The Weavers Way is a 56-mile route from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. Along this section of the route there are distant views to the corn mill at Sutton. This mill is the tallest standing mill in the UK.
The next part of the walk passes through the main village and follows a footpath across some fields to a quiet country lane that runs parallel to the church. It soon joins a bridleway that arcs gently back to the church. There is some lovely scenery along this path, out to open fields and nearby woodlands.
