Walk starts from Towneley Hall Burnley which an historic house in 400 acres of park land. The house has a museum, art gallery, café and regular exhibitions and is an interesting day out in its own right. The walk initially makes its way through the halls grounds and farm to cross Burnley Road. From here the route passes under rail line to join the Burnley Way along the East flank of Thieviely Pike to pass under rail track into Holme Chapel which is to good place to stop for refreshment. Upon leaving Holme Chapel the route gentle ascends NE to join Burnley Way on the other side of the valley before heading gently NW downhill over farmland back to Towneley Hall.
