A little gem of a walk through many of the delightful woods in the Spennymoor area. This very easy to follow walk covers a variety of terrains including surfaced and unsurfaced lanes, a popular railway path and a beautiful example of a public park.
The walk starts from Tudhoe Village, where a surfaced lane takes you to Spring Wood and then on down to the River Wear. From here the route starts to head south through a series of great little wood walks before arriving at the Auckland Way railway path. The railway path delivers you into Spennymoor for a pleasant walk through a well-maintained public park, followed by a nice ramble through a wide grassy area. The final lap meanders through a superb wooded valley, after which a little field- and lane-walking returns you into Tudhoe Village.
