From the charming little hilltop village of Tuxién, way over in the west of the Park, we begin by hiking a short distance south on a quiet mountain road before heading along a fascinating track running parallel to the Mola River. All along the way, signboards tell us about the herbal plants of the region and their uses as medicinal cures. Later, we pass some of the extensive hydro engineering work taking place at a stream before joing a wide track that climbs steadily. Later still, we reach a junction and begin our journey back much higher above the river. Now we can enjoy forest trails with occasional open areas offering the most amazing views. Finally a long, winding descent brings us back to Tuxién.
