The two parks Biddulph Grange and Greenway Bank are diverse in character, but both offer walks, information, stuff for the kids and a chance to relax. The walk takes in both paths and lanes, but also uses a disused railway line, the Biddulph Valley Way.

Walked this route using the IOS app. The map on the app has a couple of waypoints missing and waypoint 27 is in the wrong place. If you use the app and follow the route then at waypoint 27 you will need to turn right on the main road and walk along it until you see the brown signs pointing to the country park. However, the map downloadable from the website is correct.

Have now checked the walk and rewritten parts , so is now up and running. Thanks to all at Walking World for their help. The walk is a very pleasant walk and is recommended.

Not sure what has happened here, whether its my submission, a WW fault or a bit of both, however thanks for the comment and will put right in the next few weeks.

Walked this in December 2015 after a week of rain. Muddy in places but not more than over the toe-caps. A lovely walk with great views and an easy home stretch. Many of the photographs do not tie in with the numbered way points. First spotted this at WP9. From WP15 in the narrative the pictures are in sequence but don’t match up with WPs on the map. At WP18 photos, narrative and map all match up again. If you just follow the Staffordshire Moorlands Walk signs, you’ll be OK. The narrative does say this, but the photos made things confusing. If you fancy a roadside burger van for your lunch (I can recommend the bacon sarnies), turn left on Mill Hayes Road at WP 22 past some houses on the left and just before the road bears left there is a footpath sign on the right. This takes you across a couple of fields and out to a main road. Cross this and take the road ahead, Brown Lees Road, and there you should find the van, on weekdays at least. Once refuelled, continue down Brown Lees Road, for a few hundred yards and just beyond the road sign on the right for Railway Cottages, take the signed footpath on the right down to the old track bed and you’ll later re-join the walk at WP25.
