This walk is just over 4 miles and is a bit of an industrial archaeology walk as you will pass by South Yeoland mine, walk next to the Plymouth, Devonport and Clearbrook leats and also on the Granite tramway built in 1823. You will walk next to and under the railway that ran between Plymouth and Tavistock and which closed in the mid 1950's. There is an information board by the second gate on the cycle track telling you all about the tramway that you will be walking on and the leats on either side.
On Walk 4 we left the West Devon Way at Goodameavy bridge and went back to Bickleigh railway bridge. This time we are going to set off from here.
