Starting at the railway station at Walsden, this walk really does not need photos, as it is a straight walk from beginning to end. The only confusion could be at Sowerby Bridge, finding your way to the railway station for your return journey. You pass along the best valley in West Yorkshire in my opinion, as the paths leading from the valley up to the delights of the hills and hidden hamlets all deserve to be explored!

Thanks Andy for the feedback, appreciate it, good, bad or indifferent! To be fair, at the time you were walking this route, it had been very, very hot with no rain for quite some time! Everywhere was smelly to some degree. I ventured on the first part of the walk recently (after a meal at the chippy!) and all was clean and fresh. I have also been to Sowerby Bridge (changing trains) and noted that the canal had been partly drained and work was in process sprucing up the area. Please give this walk a chance as I am sure it will (has) improve (d)

Decent enough walk with plenty of opportunity to break for lunch. We stopped in Hebden Bridge for a sarny and a pint. The downside is the usual bain of cyclists and inconsiderate dog owners. Indeed it was an ominous start in Walsden as the path immediately stunk of dog muck and the other end at Sowerby Bridge is disgusting. It appears to have been deemed a dog toilet by the locals. I'd say do the walk once - but that's it!
