The walk goes directly from the centre of Welshpool, mainly by tracks and lanes, to reach the summit of this isolated hill with a 360-degree panorama. There are a few short, steep sections but the going is generally good and the first half is lavishly waymarked as it follow Glyndwr's Way, a National Trail. Even the Trail is not heavily used, so you can expect not to be crowded out.

Walked this on a late summer day and wow! Panoramic views all round. At points 16-18 the land owner has done his best to put walkers off so gps was a must to find the well hidden rickety stiles! That said the rest of the walk was so well sign posted and most enjoyable. Stopped at the Raven Inn for a drink and very welcoming.
