To do this walk you will either need to use two cars or take a taxi (Uber available) from Holmfirth to a lay-by near the start. You begin on the A635 to the west of Holmfirth where, as far as I could see, there is no bus service, but it is such a fine walk that it is worth taking the effort to arrange it. Although the walk climbs 490' it drops 1,335', using a number of old quarry and farm tracks for the first half before crossing fields as it reaches lower ground, to follow the River Holme into the town. Views are superb throughout and it has much more variety than other walks of its length. Altogether a good day out with an interesting place to finish that caters for walkers.
