The walk starts from the railway station in the Wiltshire village of West Dean. After a short walk through the village, you leave the main road on a bridleway taking you to the delightful De Borbach Chantry. This is a chantry chapel built and endowed by one Robert de Borbach in 1333, more of the history of which can be found with a bit of judicious Googling. From here, you take the path away from the village and strike out across open land to Dean Copse.

Through the copse, another open section brings you to Hawks Grove, after which a short section of quiet country lane brings you to the pretty village of East Grimstead. The return journey takes you through further pasture and woodland and finally alongside the railway line to bring you back to West Dean and the station.

Nice walk but not especially interesting. Easy to follow and nice for young children.
