A walk from Chailey Brickworks through pleasant fields and dense, mixed deciduous woodland to nowhere in particular.
It's difficult to navigate in a dense wood. They can be irrationally scary places as it begins to get dark. The paths all look the same, the gps won't work and maps are pretty useless, but keeping an eye on the sun helps. Spare a thought then, for the writer, because it is even more difficult to describe a walk through one.
So this is a challenge for us both: me, to keep you on the right path and you, to concentrate on the instructions. Don't worry too much if you get lost; you are unlikely to disappear for ever. Just enjoy the woodland and work out which path to take back from the position of the sun.
