Woodland and farm tracks with some quiet country lanes make up this walk. Surprisingly close to the centre of Ipswich and with good views over the Orwell and its splendid bridge for part of the way, you will find an enjoyable variety in this walk. The circuit takes you around 'Jimmy's Farm' (as seen on TV!) and passes close to Belstead on the edge of Ipswich. This walk can easily be combined with Walk 3419 to make another of double the length.

A nice quiet walk. Walking through the woods was the best bit. Just a couple of updates needed. At waymark 2,the track on the right just past Garden Cottage is actually a road.Turn right on this road for 300m where the road bends left, go straight on,this is where the concrete track starts. At waymark 7 through Old Hall Woods, there is no track coming in from the left, it's a crossing of paths, just keep going straight on to arrive at Blacksmiths Corner. At waymark 8 after passing through the hedge into the field, the hedge in front has now gone. It's been replaced with a wooden fence and a kissing gate. Go through the gate and keep straight on to arrive at the kissing gate in the corner. Also the 2nd gap on the right where you turn right is no longer signposted. Walk came in as 6.5miles

Wish I'd checked the Walk Steps better before setting off as steps 5 & 7 are identical and we got into a bit of a muddle trying to work out where we were!

Apologies for this error. No idea how or why but original text has been reinstated now. I hope this does the trick and thanks to Karen for letting us know.
