A pleasant stroll along good forest tracks, starting from the popular visitor centre and rising to enjoy splendid views across Bassenthwaite to Keswick. Ideal for families and particularly pushchairs, there are plenty of other activities for all within the Whinlatter Park Visitor Centre, particularly the osprey watch during the summer months.

Note: there are numerous waymarked walks within the forest. This walk does not follow a particular waymarked route. To avoid confusion it is recommended you purchase a leaflet at the visitor centre which shows all the waymarked routes.

A superb walk which gives excellent views of Keswick without the normal associated 'mountain challenge' requirements of some walks. No rucksack required, easy paths, strenuous yes but worth it for the views... Only thing to note, waypoint 1 the barrier is no longer there and the waypoint markers are not yellow but simply numbers on wooden posts. 10/10.
