This circular walk is a gentle introduction to a lovely woodland area set high on wooded slopes overlooking the River Wye, between Tintern and Trellech, in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Forestry Commission's Whitestone site has good facilities and this walk option that allows all ages and abilities to enjoy the location. A wide range of other tracks, paths and lanes as well as the Wye Valley Walk enable people to explore the wider area. All confident users of mobility scooters would be able to complete the walk and the surface quality is probably adequate for passage by assisted wheelchair users having large front wheels on their wheelchair. The surfaces are suitable for all times of the year, allowing the changing seasons to be experienced. A lack of overhanging branches and predictable surfacing can help those with visual impairments.

I know this area very well and would like to compliment Ian on his attention to detail, particularly as it affects disabled people. I am not disabled but have relatives who are. Well done Pat Roberts
