Many people come to the Wildboarclough valley for picnics and playing in the stream.
The walk goes to the higher land to the south-east and down to the Gradbach Mill. There is a cafe near the Mill open on certain days.
The return is over high ground which can be quite exposed in windy or bad weather. The views on a clear day include parts of The Roaches, Ramshaw Rocks, Shutlingsloe and even Mow Cop. There are often birds, sometimes including raptors, flying around the rough land.
