Save Our Footpaths - get off the beaten track, this circular walk includes some footpaths not often used, although the long-distance footpath seems to be quite popular. This walk has quite a good variety of scenery and in summer several fields are likely to contain farm animals. Most of the stiles are in good condition and there is a wide variety of other gates and footbridges. Most of the route is very easy walking, but there are two short sections towards the end of the walk that were muddy and likely to be boggy in winter. Most of the stiles are not dog friendly. The section across the golf course is a bit hazardous and it's poorly marked. A short section is very close to a green with a target flag. (The old path across the end of the driving practice range has fortunately been discontinued and is now different from the map, so you shouldn't be needing a hard hat.) Towards the end of the walk is a small spinney containing the attractive pond in the photo.

The walk is probably most suitable for older children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Okay for dogs that can be lifted over stiles, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled but boots will be best and essential in winter. There should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. On your route there are no facilities of any kind, although there is a rubbish bin, bench seat, picnic table, bus shelter and phone box at the start and finish on the village green.
