Starting at the station in Wivenhoe this circular walk is ideal for all the family. With only a short section along Wivenhoe Road, the rest of the walk is very calm and relaxing, even passing through Alresford, there wasn't much traffic.

Along this route you follow a lengthy section beside the River Colne before turning inland and following field paths, passing by The Ruins of St Peter's Church, walking through the village of Alresford before returning to the countryside and finally back along the River Colne to Wivenhoe.

For refreshments there are a couple of pubs at the start/finish, plus The Pointer pub and shops in Alresford (waymark 8). All paths were clear and mostly signposted (June 2023).
