The walk begins in the village of Woodbury, passing the 15th Century church before heading off across fields towards Woodbury Salterton. The route initially provides sweeping views back towards the Exe Estuary before leaving the public footpath for a short spell along country lanes. After another short footpath, again with lovely views, it's back to the lanes into the village of Woodbury Salterton. Here you will find The Diggers Rest which started life as a 'cider house' over 500 years ago; and the Holy Trinity Church. Leaving the village, the journey back to Woodbury is mainly across fields and generally downhill. All the footpaths are well-signposted and the route is easily followed. There are no stiles to climb but several gates, all of which are in a good state of repair and easy to open and close.
