A walk with four options depending on the distance you wish to walk; starting at the Red Lion public house in Heytesbury, the walk criss-crosses the river several times to reach Upton Lovell via Knook. It is then roadwork southwards down Water Street to Suffers Bridge and left to Boyton, then footpath to follow the river to Sherrington and Giggan Street. Over the A36 trunk-road, then westwards along the old A36 through the centre of Codford St Mary to turn left into Station Road. Take the first footpath on the right to pass north of the Crop Research Station to Upton Lovell, then the almost straight footpath north-westwards through Knook to meet the A36 trunk-road again. Turn left at the A36 and walk almost the length of Heytesbury Village to the Red Lion public house.
