This longish day walk connects Zahara de la Sierra and Grazalema, two of the most beautiful white villages of the area following for the most part ancient drove trails (caƱadas) used for centuries to move livestock to and from the higher pastures in summer. In the first part of the walk there are fabulous views over Zahara with its castle perched high above the lake and over to the Lagarin and Malava peaks. Towards the end of the walk the magnificent vista unfolds of the Grazalema park with the village nestling under the soaring limestone mountains. The walk can be done as a pleasant one-way walk or combined with other Walkingworld walks WW2053 (Pinsapar - Grazalema to Benamahoma) and WW2282 (Benamahoma - Zahara de la Sierra) to provide a 3 day (weekend?) circumnavigation of the Grazalema reserve area. Other Walkingworld walks in the area can be added to extend the walks to Benaocaz and a complete traverse of the Grazalema park area.
