Chittlehampton is a quiet village in a very rural, unspoilt area of North Devon. It has a very popular pub and a beautiful church sitting near each other across the village square, complete with village pump. This walk takes you down to the Tawside village of Umberleigh and back, walking across very easygoing fields and down through the very pretty Pitt Wood. If you time it right you may also be able to enjoy the hospitality of The Rising Sun in Umberleigh before making your way back via riverside paths and quiet fields, with glorious views all the way.
