This is a walk suitable for a short winter's day or a summer evening. The river with its boats is picturesque, while the open landscape offers views of the distant hills. Winter will find many geese and other wildfowl on the Douglas and the surrounding fields.

Chris Standring. A lovely short walk mainly by the river. Plenty to see with people working on their boats and a good view of the lock gates linking the river and canal. Easy walking.
