This is probably the shortest way to make a circular walk on Conwy Mountain, using lanes and field-paths to reach more open country. The grading of the walk represents only that part traversing the ridge, where care is needed. The remainder is moderate and if lower paths are used instead of the summit route, then the whole walk would be moderate. However, the views towards Snowdonia and across the sea would be missed as well as the airy aspect.

Thanks to Jim Grindle for clarifying the instructions. Hopefully no more confusion or kissing-gate temptations! Chris, Admin

I walked this route today and the range of views is excellent and the bonus of the harbour path at the end is a treat - don't be tempted to skip this bit of the walk. I think it would better to grade this as moderate with a warning that the final ridge could be difficult in poor weather. Today there was no difficulty at all. By the way I was also tempted by the first two kissing gates at point 5. Having said this the third kissing gate is clearly marked with a footpath sign on a post. Also having passed through this kissing gate and following the hedge on the right side of the field, it takes two changes of direction to the right and it is at the second change that you carry straight on instead of following the hedge.

This is a lovely walk with excellent views, very exposed in poor weather conditions but would benefit people by having clearer instructions. Point 2 should say after the word signpost ........ Continue out of the town past the houses on the left until after 1km you reach the derestriction sign. Point 5 Could be made clearer by saying until you see the 3rd kissing gate on the left after the farm.

Great walk, with fabulous views of the surrounding area. Not too strenuous.
