This walk is offered as an alternative to 2190 where a longish bridleway has now been surfaced; one subscriber found this rather tedious, although I re-walked it and personally found it quite acceptable. The new route goes directly up from the village alongside Waddington Brook which is in a deep, tree-filled gorge. Just before the Moorcock is reached it re-joins the original route which follows a bridleway down to the pastures near Waddington and it shares the same wide views across the Ribble Valley.

Lovely walk. You may have to lift your dog over 6 or 7 stiles plus 1 ladder stile.

Really enjoyed the first half following the brook up to the Moorcock. Firm underfoot and delightful gentle ascent generally. The return was not so good. Note the bridlepath from the road is actually a minor road which joins the public bridlepath down the hill. Had some problems with dogs just outside Waddington and I'm afraid discretion got the better of me and I detoured around some salivating cur. The end of the walk was weird - along a track that didn't feel like a track , in fact I felt I was trespassing! My GPS said otherwise but a very odd gated path back into Waddington, hence my rating of 3 stars, otherwise it would have been higher.
