A walk for all seasons; whilst part of the walk is on paths alongside a road, the path follows the golf course and has great views over the valley towards the Durham Cricket Club. It continues with a pleasant walk through interesting woodlands, with good views of parkland and riverside and passes the 14th Century Lumley Castle.

First part of the walk is very noisy beside a busy road. Second part of the walk was very mucky and not much to see though we did sneak in and have our photo taken at Lumley Castle (now a hotel).
