We had a lovely walk. Only place we had a problem was between way markers 5 and 6, need to take the path away from the wall shortly after way marker 5. Otherwise a great walk.

Great walk for dogs, though lots of sheep on the Fell. Waymark 8 - the forest has been replanted but the trees are still quite small, and I failed to spot them from a distance away, as the path wasn't that clear. However, there is now a new signpost at Waymark 9, with the path to the left labelled 'Eskdale Trail'.

At waymark eight, continue downhill to a deforested area. As the previous reviewer has noted, after you pass the Tarn on the right, the sign for the path on the left has been removed. The path is clearly visible even though it is not signposted. We enjoyed this walk.

4/10/2007 - MAUREEN STANDING

At waymark 8 the signs for Lower Eskdale (turn left) and Muncaster (continue ahead) are no longer there. You need to look out for the turning near the end of the tarn. Lovely walk otherwise. Neil and Mo.
