This is another great London Walk. It's amazing how quickly you can stroll from one quarter to another and notice the considerable differences between one part of town and another. Disease, burial mounds, strip joints and adult entertainment sit comfortably alongside the great and the good, the gentrified, the smart and the just; never a dull moment.

This walk can be noisy and brash! Do not expect a quiet time. Everyone rushes around, delivering goods to oriental food shops and restaurants. Then suddenly you enter a passage with charming bijou residences from the 18th Century.

Not for the fainthearted, but a wonderful way to spend an hour or so in the world's greatest and most exciting capital city.

This walk is available for free download as a real time audio recording. You can search for it on iTunes. Look for 'London Walks' in the podcast section of iTunes and download the realtime commentary onto your iPod or MP3 player. No need for maps or guide books and you won't get lost listening to the commentary and the soundscape as we walk together. For full details, visit http://londonwalks.org
