Leave the Ranger Car Park and turn right. A good path rises gradually and takes you towards Harbour Hill. There are open views towards Threipmuir Reservoir, Black Hill and Bell's Hill. You will soon head downhill towards Glencorse Reservoir. At the signpost turn left up a grass trail towards Bonaly Reservoir, go through the gate and walk to another gate; this is a good place to stop for a break as you have great views of Edinburgh. A downhill path on rough clinker (this does not last for long) leads to a gate at the woods; go through the gate and walk down through the forest to another gate at the car park. Do not go through, but turn left and walk along a pleasant path. This section has wonderful views of Edinburgh and Arthur's Seat. Soon you will arrive at a little gem called Torduff Reservoir. What a location; this is one of the highlights of the walk. Carry on past Clubbiedean Reservoir to Middle Kinleith Farm, where you turn left and walk out on a tarred road to the car park. There is no way you can avoid this road (the track leading from West Kinleith Farm is very rough and adds nothing to the walk).
