Clapham, the Bridleways Walk

The walk was deliberately planned for a friend who has difficulties with stiles; dog owners might also find it convenient. The walk starts from the National Park car park and goes east through tunnels before emerging onto a wide landscape with fine all-round views. One bridleway picks up after another with scarcely a break and the overall climbing is steady. The walk also visits a clapper-bridge, which is a fine place for a stop. The going is generally good underfoot although pools do form on the bridleways where not maintained.

8/13/2013 - Barry Dixon

Brilliant walk, beautiful countryside and an easy walk to follow with the exception of Way Point 1 where the flat memorial stone has been removed which causes a little confusion.
