The walk is mainly to the east of Chirk and is about evenly divided between canal towpath, quiet country lanes and fields. There is little climbing and for the distance, very few stiles. Views are good and it makes an interesting walk in an area that is relatively unfrequented. The church in Chirk now has a lot of information abut the area, all well-displayed with photographs and other illustrations.

A lovely walk, very easy to follow. Don't be put off by the electric fencing mentioned at wp13 - the first line is at waist height and easily ducked under, and the second line was lying on the ground.
