This walk starts off at the railway museum in Chappel and heads along the road to join a footpath that leads you past Chappel Mill. The mill is currently occupied so access is limited, but you get a good view as you pass through the grounds.

The route then heads over to Chappel Viaduct, a vast 320m-long brick structure rising to a height of 73 feet. It was constructed in 1849 and is one of the largest brick structures in the country! The route passes right underneath this amazing viaduct before heading across open fields and weaving a route across the Chappel countryside, eventually working its way back to the railway museum.

Re-walked this one after a year and it requires a major update. At waymark 13 the footpath is now permanently closed. If you wish to continue the walk you will need to miss out waymarks 11 to 14 following this route. At waymark 11,do not turn right through the gate, but carry on down the road for 300m to a T junction and turn right.Follow this road for 200m to a fork.Take the right fork, and waymark 15 is a 100m down on the left. All roads are quite country lanes. This new revised route is 4.3 miles.

This has to be one of my favourite walks, beautiful countryside and plenty of animals enroute.Had a chance meeting with a peacock on an enclosed pathway,it was beautiful, recommended walk. Couple of updates At waymark 1 the pavement only lasts for about 50m,you have to walk in the road the rest of the way to the junction. At waymark 3,you walk down the footpath,go through 1 kissing-gate,and then 50m down you need to turn left on a waymarked footpath to Chappel Mill, not straight on as the instructions indicate. At waymark 8 after you cross the bridge on the left, there is a stile to cross. It is very badly broken, take extra care when stepping over it,
