This attractive area of open countryside is locally known as 'Joey the Swan Walk' and although I didn't see Joey the parkland is rich in wildlife. This includes ancient trees and a wildflower garden planted volunteers in the local conservation group. The excellent smooth, wide, tarmac path is quite level, and generally follows the delightful tree and shrub lined route of Wistaston Brook - which is the size of a small river. There are places where your dog can have a paddle and the locals tell me you may also spot a kingfisher. The playing field is good for picnics and as it is fitted with goals posts so taking a football could be useful if you have children. At the end of the tarmac path is Joey the Swan children's play area. Having travelled one kilometre this marks the end of the wheelchair route, and you will need to return the same way you came. As there are no stiles, if you can fold your buggy to squeeze it through steel kissing gates you can continue on the full route along with other walkers.

This walk is suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Perfect for dogs, it's an excellent return walk for wheelchairs, and a circular walk for buggies and other walkers. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled; and there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. There is a good car park but no other facilities on this walk except for the numerous bench seats scattered along the route and a picnic table by the children's play area.
