The walk soon gains the higher ground through woodland on a good path for wide sweeping views of lower Wharfedale, before descending into Adddingham for a short exploration and possibly some refreshments. The return is by way of a pastoral riverside walk along the Wharfe.

The layby no longer exists at the start, so an alternative would be at Addingham. Also the stile at waymark 4 stile is avoided by just walking a few metres further on to the end of the wall and this would be my recommendation! Great walk though with fantastic views!

Step 4 instructions say "Go half left here to a stile in the wall". This stile has quite a large drop on the other side. Take care.
